Trackday

Trackday driving is one of the largest growing areas in the Motorsport industry, and because the vast majority of cars used are production based road cars the demands particularly on the brake system can be quite severe.

For this reason it is very important to have the entire braking system on the car checked prior to a trackday event to make sure all components are up to the job. The production based brake systems on most road vehicles are designed with many performance constraints, and do not always hold up well to repeated high speed stops required on a race circuit. If regular trackdays are planned is it often wise to look at an aftermarket brake up-grade which increases the size of disc and caliper, this allows the brake system to cope with much higher levels of energy.

PAGID Racing Brake Pads

Of course the brake pads used for trackday driving also have a major influence on both performance and durability. A higher level of friction and temperature stability are required to maximize the stopping ability of the car, but durability for both pad and discs are also important.

PAGID have several materials that are popular for trackday use, for top end Porsche trackday cars RS29 (Yellow) is the accepted standard, whereas with Lotus Elise, RS14 (Black) is the pad of choice. Whatever your trackday car we can provide a pad to best suit your requirements, offering the best combination of performance, durability and controllability. more on pagid racing brake pads

ZF Sachs Race Engineering

With our partner ZF Sachs Race Engineering, we are also able to supply the finest quality and best engineered high performance clutches for tuned road, trackday and Group N vehicles. Apart from being able to transfer higher levels of torque to the gearbox without slipping, ZF Sachs Performance clutches are also more durable and will withstand more abuse than a standard clutch system. No point in spending lots of money gaining higher and higher levels of power and torque from your engine if you are unable to transfer the power without the clutch slipping. As it’s hidden away the clutch is often a neglected component when it comes to tuning. Performance diesels, in particular, often require a significantly stronger clutch in order to avoid clutch slip after engine re-mapping. ZF Sachs have one of the largest ranges of performance up-graded clutches currently available, designed and manufactured by the same department responsible for design and build of clutches used in F1, WRC, WTCC, etc. We can advise of the best options available to suit your vehicle and driving style. more on sachs performance
