Textar News

We have been involved in providing braking solutions for the Fiat Coupe Club (FCCUK) for few years now, supplying PAGID and Textar brake pads, discs and performance brake fluid to members who have previously found it difficult to find a good pad and disc combination to work on this difficult platform.

Unique operating conditions and design criteria meant that the 20v Turbo models in particular have a heavy front end, bags of power and poor cooling to the front brakes, create an environment that gave the brake system a hard time. This normally resulted in low pad and disc life, and during track day use often brake fade and disc cracking, etc.

We worked for a while to get the best combination of disc and pad, both for road and track use, the results have shown a major increase in both pad and disc life, and no fade or cracking / warping issues.

This involvement led us to come into contact with Marco Haig, a member of the Fiat Coupe Club who had been developing his car to compete in the Time Attack series. Marco currently uses a larger than standard Brembo brake disc and caliper set-up which is bespoke designed and manufactured, and runs PAGID RS29 brake pads on the front and Textar on the rear.

We wish Marco and his team the very best of luck in the Championship, and we congratulate him on bringing such an unusual car to the series.
