2012 Autosport International
January, 2012
Bremsen Technik (UK) Ltd were in attendance alongside Pagid RS and Brembo Sport distributor Performance Braking Ltd at this year's Autosport International at the Birmingham NEC. The decision was taken to locate the stand in the main show for 2012, rather than in the usual location inside the smaller Autosport Engineering show. It was hoped that the weekend public traffic would be more suited to the new range of Brembo Sport HP2000 disc brake pads, designed primarily for fast road use but also suitable for light track use. In fact, it turned out that significant interest was generated in all products across all 4 show days. Representatives were on hand on the BTUK stand from Pagid Motorsport and ZF Sachs, whilst the Brembo group retained their own stand just a short distance away.
We'd like to thank all of our friends and colleagues both old and new for visiting the stand and look forward to what is hoped will be another successful year in 2012.
Pagid & the Pikes Peak Champion
September, 2011
Jeff Zwart, from Woody Creek, Colo., seven-time Pikes Peak Champion, bested his 2010 record setting run by 10 seconds in his street-legal Porsche 911 GT2 RS. He also set the record for the fastest street-legal car to ever race at the Peak.
Jeff also completed an 1138-mile journey from Los Angeles to Colorado Springs in the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS – achieving an amazing 22.6 miles-per-gallon with the 620 horsepower sports car – to get to the event. He was the only competitor to drive a street car to the Mountain.
The car ran Pagid RS29, a renowned endurance motorsport material, for the road journey to and from the race as well as during the competition. The car was running standard Porsche brakes apart from the RS29 pads, and is a road legal modified car, not a race car.
GTI International
June, 2011
This weekend saw our Motorsport team attend the annual GTI international show at Bruntingthorpe proving ground with the trade stand. Our intention was to showcase our range of brake, clutch and suspension products and to raise awareness of the new Brembo Sport pad range
Saturday started ominously with high winds and rain which combined to make erecting our gazebo a difficult proposition! Unfortunately many people who would have attended must have seen the forecast and stayed away, meaning it was relatively quiet in the trade area this day. We still had many conversations with the hardy souls who had perhaps not heard the forecast and ventured out!
Sunday (thankfully) was forecast to be a lovely day and when we arrived at Brutingthorpe we were greeted with unbroken blue skies. This meant a lot of people wandering around inspecting the thousands of cars, and we spoke too many of them who were interested in our products. The needle reached 30 degrees C in the afternoon meaning even venturing from the shade of our marquee for a short time left you feeling like a burger at a barbecue!
The GTI crowd seemed to revel in the conditions and some extremely fast times were set along the Drag Strip and handling course. Some of the very highly modified cars were achieving 0-60 times in less than 3 seconds, with the quarter mile being covered in less than 10 seconds! During the course of the weekend we were offering 10% off our ZF Sachs coilover suspension kits, in conjunction with the main sponsor of the day REVO Technik, who organised the drag strip and offered significant discounts off their remapping service during the event.
Of significant interest was the new Sport Pad Range from Brembo. With pads to suit the majority of VAG applications many of the enthusiasts were excited by this new product and also keen to share their dissatisfaction with certain coloured brake pads that were "anything but high performance"
Thank you to all our customers both new and old who stopped to chat, see you all again next year!
The TT Shop - Custom Brembo Up-grade for new Audi TTRS
May, 2010
We were approached by one of our Brembo Technical Centers, the TT Shop to supply a special front brake up-grade kit for their new “TTRS” demo car. This was the first request, we and Brembo have had for this new high performance offering from Audi. Brembo quickly got hold of some information, made a few calculations and performed operating simulations to find out what level of equipment was required to improve the already impressive brake system fitted to the TTRS as standard. The OEM brake system on this car already includes a Brembo 4 piston caliper and a 370mm 2 piece disc, so something very special was required.
Brembo came back with a brand new kit featuring a monoblock 6 piston caliper, lighter and stiffer than the OEM one, and most importantly a 380 x 32 mm 2 piece floating disc assembly. The disc although not massively bigger than the OEM disc is produced from a racing spec rotor with a curved vane design and a much lighter floating mounting bell design. This ultimately allows the disc surface to run cooler under extreme use, due to the more efficient design of both the disc and bell assembly.
Making the brake kit even more exclusive, the TT Shop decided they wanted to custom paint the new 6 piston calipers, to match exactly the colour of the car. The bespoke paint was applied in their in-house paint shop, and a very good job they made of them too.
As far as we are aware this is the first kit of its type to be fitted to the new TTRS, and if you would like the same level of brake performance and appearance on your TTRS, or any other Audi TT model, then please contact the TT Shop for more information.
Hennessey Performance Venom GT
April, 2010
The Hennessey Performance Venom GT is based around a modified Lotus Exige chassis, famed for its amazing handling, which is then fitted with a supercharged 6.2 liter LS9 V8 (the same as in the Corvette ZR1) tweaked by Hennessey to 725 bhp! There will also be the opportunity to specify 1000 bhp and 1200 bhp twin turbo V8 engine variants! When fitted to a carbon fibre bodied car weighing just over 1000kgs this will mean phenomenal power and in combination with the famous Lotus handling this will no doubt be a very special car.
Naturally there can be only once choice when it comes to stopping this incredible machine and that’s where Brembo, Pagid and Bremsen Technik enter the story. We were contacted by the team developing the Venom GT as they wanted the ultimate braking system for their project.
This consists of Brembo 6 Pot calipers all around with Pagid RS29 brake pads acting on carbon ceramic rotors. Customers are also able to specify the Brembo GTR calipers to really stand out from the other nine Venom GT owners; only 10 cars will be produced per year! It is easy to see which cars are fitted with the exclusive GTR caliper due to their highly polished nickel plated finish.
Hennessey Performance road test
Rolex Daytona 24 2010
Feb, 2010
After one of the most action packed and exciting race’s for years which saw the favorite Chip Ganassi BMW powered Riley protoype knocked off the top spot by the new team Action Express, again Pagid dominated the leader board. Every car but one in the prototype class was using Pagid RS29 our endurance material, which shows the Pagid material is head and shoulders above its rivals. It is very rare for all teams to agree on one component like this and demonstrates the dominance Pagid RS29 is achieving in the Endurance racing community.
Over 75% of the Gt class were also running Pagid this year highlighting the following Pagid RS29 has built up in recent times, and demonstrating brilliantly the world leading credentials of this compound.
There are no more extreme test conditions for a brake pad then a 24hr race, and Pagid RS29 has proved time and time again it simply cannot be beaten!
Autosport 2010
January, 2010
Another year another Autosport! It doesn’t seem 12 months since we were last at Birmingham but it has rolled around again. Once again Bremsen Technik (UK) Ltd had a stand in the engineering section to showcase our products. We had a prominent position this year so Paul and Steve were kept busy with enquiries and meetings with both new and current customers. Big thanks must go to the team at ZF Sachs for supplying us some excellent display items at short notice, which generated a lot of interest in our stand, in particular the ever popular F1 clutch!
Lastly we would like to offer a huge thank you to our Pagid distributors Gill and John Freeth from Performance Braking for their assistance on the stand. Not only did they supply a never ending supply of chocolate biscuits and good humour, but they stayed behind to help with the dismantling of our stand. Without them we would still be there packing away so thanks once again Gill and John.

New Pagid RS Material
PAGID have launched a new compound specifically designed for use on rear axles. RS7-1 has a very stable µ level of 0.35 from cold to 500°c, with a very linear in-stop behavior with no ramping up, or drop off in µ during a stop. The characteristics of this compound are ideally suited for the rear axle of front wheel drive cars, but work well also on rear wheel drive and 4 wheel drive cars.
Jamun do it again!
October, 2009
Jamun Racing Services took overall victory in the 2009 MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain, thanks to there driver James Cole. James finished 48 points ahead of closest rival Josef Newgarden, to make it 5 consecutive championships for the team from Kent. For all those championship victories the team have chosen the reliable high performance and control of PAGID RS Racing Brake Pads to give them the advantage under braking, and with less residual drag down the straights.
Can they make it 6 years in a row in 2010? We would not be surprised!
Porsche Club GB Festival
September, 2009
Last weekend was the annual Porsche Club GB Festival at held at Blenheim palace. This event provided an excellent opportunity to promote our product range, as well as give us a chance to meet with some of our Porsche specialist distributors. As Brembo, Pagid RS and ZF Sachs are specified as OE equipment on Porsche, this is an area of the market that has particular relevance to us.
As a result ours was a popular stand, Paul and Steve were kept busy for the whole weekend chatting to potential customers and answering their questions. We also got some excellent feedback from existing customers who were already utilizing our products.
Thanks to everyone who took the time out to speak to us and express an interest in our stand.

Class victory for Aston Martin V12 Vantage
June, 2009
Aston Martin had a very successful weekend at the World famous Nurburgring 24 hour race on the 23rd 24th of May 2009.
The new Vantage V12 comfortably won its class (SP8) at its first attempt, the car driven by Dr Ulrich Bez, Chris Poritt, Richard Meaden and Oliver Mathai managed 21st place overall and completed 139 laps of the famous circuit.
The V8 Vantages also had a successful race coming in 1st and 2nd in the (SP10 GT4) class, proving once again the combination of speed and reliability that Aston Martin are now famous for in endurance racing circles.
Of course this success was also partially attributed to PAGID RS29 brake pads, and Brembo brake systems fitted to all 3 cars, and also factory fitted to all Aston Martin N24 cars. Another reason why all 3 cars ran faultlessly, with consistent brake performance and exceptional pad and disc life.
Congratulations to the team from Aston Martin and Bremsen Technik (UK).
Formula Renault UK Choose PAGID RS
As a result of a direct request from the participating teams, organising body R Sport who promote Renaultsport’s UK championships have agreed an exclusive supply deal with Bremsen Technik (UK) for PAGID RS Racing Brake Pads in the Formula Renault UK series.
Having been the preferred choice in the European Formula Renault series for many years due to the material’s excellent frictional properties over a wide temperature range, it’s hardly surprising that R Sport have chosen PAGID RS.
Used in conjunction with an Alcon braking system, comprising 4 pot calipers and 2 piece ventilated discs, drivers report an excellent “pedal feel” – familiar characteristic of all PAGID RS friction compounds.
We’ll be following the progress of the 2009 Formula Renault UK series and will be posting regular news updates and reports here. If you require further information in the meantime, click here for the Renaultsport UK website.
