The success of PAGID RS is truly Global
The recent Merdeka Millennium Endurance 12 hour endurance race that took place at the Sepang International Grand Prix Circuit in Malaysia, was won by PAGID RS customer Porsche Club of Singapore.
The three drivers D.Nicholas / Darryl O. / WS Mok beat there nearest rivals by 4 laps, which proved a strong result for them against 77 competitors in a maximum starting grid. There was a large variety of machines with the Top 10 dominated by a mix of 6 x 997 and 996 Porsches, a BMW Z4M Coupe, a Holden Commodore, a Honda S2000 and Honda Integra.
The Teams 2008 spec 997 GT3 RSR ran faultlessly for the full 12hours, and of course so did the PAGID RS29 brake pads which comfortably completed the distance with plenty life to spare, with only minor wear on the brake discs.

ZF Sachs Race Report, 12.10.08
Formula 1: Podium positions for ZF partners in Japan
Robert Kubica finished second at the Japanese Grand Prix. The Pole, whose BMW Sauber F1.08 is equipped with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers, put in a flawless performance over 67 laps around the Fuji Speedway and improved four positions from sixth on the grid in the process.
ZF Sachs was represented for a second time on the podium thanks to Kimi Räikkönen’s third place in the sixteenth race of the season. Dampers from Schweinfurt are also fitted in the Finn’s Ferrari. Meanwhile, his team mate Felipe Massa dropped well down the running order after being given a drive-through penalty, but nevertheless claimed eighth place after an impressive fight back through the field. Owing to a subsequent 25-second penalty for sixth placed Sébastien Bourdais (Toro Rosso), the Brazilian moved up a place and collected two points. Massa still holds second place in the World Championship standings but, like Kubica, reduced the points deficit to leader Lewis Hamilton (McLaren-Mercedes) and still has the chance to become World Champion. Ferrari maintained its lead in the Constructors’ Championship.

Thorney Motorsport
To highlight some of our customers, we are working closely with Thorney Motorsport, who will be competing in the EERC Britcar 24hour Race for the first time in a Vauxhall VX220, using PAGID RS29 brake pads and also a ZF Sachs Race Engineering up-rated clutch package.
The VX220 will use the 2.2 Ecotec engine, using a custom Thorney Motorsport/Webcon throttle body conversion. It uses up-rated Schrick cams, an up-rated cylinder head with double valve springs and ported inlets. The exhaust is custom Milltek Sport with a custom TMS equal length tubular manifold. The car has also had substantial aerodynamic work, focusing on the rear clam, which has been converted to a coupe with an extended diffuser package, and what can only be described as a “substantial rear wing”.
Brakes come courtesy of AP Racing with 4 pot calipers up front and 2 pot rear calipers, mated to bespoke 2 piece discs with aluminium centre bells, and of course PAGID RS29 brake pads!
Another interesting feature of this car is the in car camera set up. Inside the car 2 cameras are positioned with dual picture display, one shows the driver, the other shows the drivers view from the cockpit. These images are beamed live to 40” Samsung LCD TV’s in the pit lane and paddock so spectators can watch the race live from the drivers view. The images are also streamed to Thorney’s website www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk so the race can be watched live from a pc, and at the circuit can be watched from an iPhone or similar wireless enable PDA. Full details of this system can be seen at Lincc.tv.
Paragon Porsche
We are also pleased to be working with Paragon Porsche with their newly acquired Porsche 997 GT3 RSR, which runs PAGID RS29 pads, and a Sachs Race Engineering Carbon Clutch package. Paragon took a class victory and 3rd overall in last year’s race, and are moving up a class into GT3, so who knows what might happen? However there 997 is very new to them, and they have had only limited time to prepare for the race, but we keep our fingers crossed for them.
BMW M3 E92
PAGID RS have just released high performance brake pads to suit the BMW M3 E92 model. At the moment these pads are only available in the popular RS19 compound which is primarily suited to hard track day use and endurance racing. This is sure to be a popular addition to the PAGID RS range with the standard brake system on the vehicle slightly less capable than the outright performance of the vehicle, and is likely to be a popular track day car, as the performance of the car can not be totally realized on the public road.
The important part numbers are:- Front E8053 and Rear E8021.

Competition Braking Products are pleased to support the Formula Student team of Newcastle University.
Newcastle Racing consists of a team of 8 highly motivated Mechanical Engineering students, each specializing in a different area of the design of a small, single-seater racing car.
Newcastle Racing updates:
The ‘NR5’ car successfully competed in the UK ImechE Formula Student 2008 at Silverstone in July. It entered as a Class 1 entry and completed all the static and dynamic events, finishing in the top ten of the UK universities. The overall winner was Stuttgart from Germany
The ‘NR6’ team have been busy finalising the design of their car in order to produce drawings for manufacture. They entered as a Class 3 entry in the Formula Student competition this year to gain experience for the following year. Their concept was scrutinised in the way of a design, cost and marketing presentation, as well as reports submitted prior to the event. The team responded well to questioning and learnt some valid lessons which will no doubt help them in the year to come. The plan is to begin the manufacture of the aluminium/foam composite chassis in September and have a fully operational car by January, so that there will be plenty of development time available before the 2009 event. Due to the tight timescale's, the team are constantly looking for sponsorship to allow the build to occur. They are also looking to combine with a local manufacturer to allow them to build the majority of the car away from the university.
